Burn ban has been lifted. Effective August 19, 2016, the burn ban in Burleson County has been lifted.

Tax rate will effectively be lowered

The FY2016 Budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year's budget by an amount of $942,491 which is 14.19 percent increase from last year's budget.  The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $36,014. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE LOWERED BY 0.87 percent and will decrease taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $4.26.
